  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed a wide range of skills, starting from nothing I have became adept in many skill sets required by the business. and more importantly i am able to practice these skills everyday.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Although the workload is incredibly high with out of hours study, the weight of my expectations has encouraged me to plan effectively and achieve my goals. I find this to be a great personal development.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • During the start of my apprenticeship my program was well organised and structed considering it was the first time my company had took on an apprentice on this route; however during the pandemic and a subsequent manager change the organisation slipped and many contacts with training providers fell.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Incredible support. Having my final two years of my degree condensed into one to satisfy the timescale I was essentially a fulltime student and my employer was considerate and offered me ample time to achieve my goals.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The support from SETA has been second to none, considering they have not undertook a degree level apprentice before, SETA were quick to establish relationships with my university and communicate effective feedback.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • with regards to my NVQ, the 13 modules have been chosen to best reflect my post apprenticeship roll and it is surprising how close they fit considering how specialised the field is. Modules such as Preparing and supporting Quality Audits have greatly furthered my experience in the workplace.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Following the pandemic, more opportunities are arising to visit different companies and deferent levels within the company. which greatly influences my experience.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Being at the forefront of the aviation industry and studying in the desired field, Rolls-Royce have been amazing in supporting my development and learning from providing the budget to run my dissertation project to giving me the time to effectively prepare for my final year exams.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Rolls-Royce?
  • Quantify how much work you need to do, set realistic milestones and run a disciplined apprenticeship yourself with manager support where required.
