  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role involves safely maintaining live aircraft, keeping them to an airworthy standard. On a day-to-day basis I will be met with different challenges and jobs, from something simple like topping up the engine oils to replacing the fan blades on an engine!

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have gained loads of valuable information and learnt new skills. I have discovered new tools and subsequently learnt how to use them. I have also found new techniques and ways to use tools that I already used before!

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme is challenging, but that’s what I was expecting! I enjoy it very much though as no two days are the same!

  • Very well.

  • As much as possible. My employers are very approachable and always looking to help!

  • A fair amount.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The training provider gave me a better understanding of the components I was working with. So when changing a component I understand why I was changing it and what the component does!

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is always activities offered, and it is your choice wether to participate in them or not!

  • 9a. Would you recommend British Airways to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • British Airways is a very good company to work for, not just for engineering but across the business! You meet loads of different people with all sorts of walks of life! Everyone I’ve worked with is very keen to help and show you new skills!


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?
  • Don’t hesitate to apply. Expect to have to possibly relocate, but that’s part of the fun!
