I work within a team of people who are highly experienced at their job, I shadow as well as have my own projects and tasks to complete. I get to network through organizing events and supporting my manager. I get a high level of exposure despite the working from home set up.
My business degree is being fully funded so i am furthering my academic understanding within the field of business this is also combined with internal training program as well as the Junior talent program which is a 2 year course you are auto-enrolled on to explore career options and the business.
Despite the heavy workload the experience has been very enjoyable - everyone is so friendly and willing to help. Although working from home is not my ideal situation it has been great being able to go into London and experiencing the corporate lifestyle. There are lots of various different opportunities to suit your career aspirations
As mentioned previously there is a strong internal program that allows you to develop yourself and understanding of the business whilst networking with colleagues across Europe! The university study means we get 20% of our employed time as off the job training this is structured and allows you to work towards your degree however you do have to be strict with yourself and ensure you stay on top of the work
My manager has been highly supportive since before the program even started, with weekly calls to discuss my university progress alongside more formal calls every quarter. There are opportunities for mentoring as well as coaching combined with a strong ethos of 'Working you way' which allows for great daily flexibility.
I visit university once a week in person which has been really helpful in separating work and university life. However is for any reason we are unable to get to the campus we aren't able to join online which then places a lot of pressure to catch up. All the staff are friendly and offer to help and understand the situation of an apprentice
All of our assignments have to be linked to our own business which has meant I have explored our business much more than i would have individually. this has meant i understand more about what Fujitsu whilst linking it to my university work.it also enables you to have a deeper knowledge of business theory to apply.
Yes! There are alot of networks that you can join that cover lots of different areas. Social activities are also starting to return now covid restrictions have started to be lifted I have attended several events with other junior talent and it has been great - there are also virtual events that have taken place as well
Yes
Everyone is highly supportive and you have the freedom to try different roles and meet lots of people. the flexible working has been great to get a work life balance and highlights how much the company really care for your wellbeing. The opportunities and variety of different degrees as well is also really amazing.
Be yourself and make sure you have a passion for the business area or course that you are applying for. I am sure you have heard it before but companies dont look for the best grades they want someone who they can see have the drive to succeed and put full effort into the job and degree!
