  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • i go through 6 month cycles in the business, each in a different business function. In each i get involved in different projects and get given my own responsibilities to take care of.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • yes, we work on something called the apprenticeship standard where there are many skills that we work towards developing. My tasks in each role are tailored to help me improve on ones im least advanced.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i like it because if im in a function i dont like, i know i will eventually be moving - but at the same time its valuable for me to find out what i enjoy, and what i dont

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • very well. they've ran the programme many times so there is already a system in place for us so everything runs smoothly

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • lots, we all have a mentor, and have been put in touch with many touch points in HR that we can contact if we need. They also have mental health first aiders within the business we can contact if we want to.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • enough. its a tricky transition moving from being 'spoon fed' at secondary/sixth form/college. and SHU has supported us with lot of emails of people we can contact if we get stuck and a library help point.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • i feel like it helps me structure conversations with my employer about what skills i want to develop. thus helping me ask what projects to work on and what to get involved in.

    7/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • there are so many things we have the option to get involved in. you can volunteer at dozens of different charity organisations. you can apply for a MHFA course. and there are monthly networking events. welwyn is a slightly smaller site so there are less sporting groups - also tricky after covid.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Cereal Partners Worldwide to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a joint venture with nestle - so its part of a massive company - but CPW is relatively small in the uk which i like as its big enough but not too overwhelming. The staff, the culture, the work ethic, the support available is amazing. i feel included and valued.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cereal Partners Worldwide?
  • prepare but don't plan. for example google standard interview questions and know what points you'd like to include in your answer, but don't write a script for each answer. What experience do you have - not necessarily business experience, but skills. eg- dofe = teamwork. which a-levels did you take that needed time management, and why? that kind of stuff.
