  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Have an overview of operational risk within my function. Follow up on potential risks when they come up as well as looking into other projects and working with different stakeholders

    7/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes i think so. I am more organised and able to deal with stress

    10/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Course has great benefits and great outcomes. The university and HR interaction can really annoy me. No transparency on comp or how/why our course structure changes and no consultation either. Uni expect too much of you and apprenticeship work is mind numbingly dull and pointless. Tedious tickbox exercise.

    4/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Pfff I don't know. Exam dates have changed with only a few weeks notice which really impacts holiday and time off plans. You need to rely on your own flexibility and organisation a lot of the time.

    5/10

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Line manager and team are both really good and understanding. Wouldn't be able to complete the course without them. Academic mentor is also very good.

    10/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • There is support in form of masterclasses and webinars, as well as access to tutors over email. Personally should make more of this resource than I have in the past.

    9/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It doesn't yet. maybe some wider understanding of the financial world but it has no connection to my day to day

    3/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Covid - none. Although this should have changed but culture at work is too focused on wfh for this to be useful

    2/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend UBS to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Would have preferred a sliding scale to yes/no. But culture is good, pay and bonus are better elsewhere

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
  • None really specific to applying to UBS compared with other employers
