  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a software developer for a marketing automation company. On a day to do basis I address big tickets that have been raised both interplay and externally and apply fixes for them. I also build new features for the automation tool that the company provides depending on what is needed decided by the product roadmap.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my skills in php by working on the back end systems as well as JavaScript and the frameworks that the business uses - ext.js and webix. I have also created a live stats panel for the API proving real time data for accounts managers, this introduced me to working with mongoDB, using their change streams functionality as well as web sockets.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The university course is good and it is good to have communal learning with my peers. The course is taught very well and all of the lecturers are very engaging and are happy to help if there are any issues. Overall i have enjoyed the experience. And look forward to the years ahead

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The course is organised very well and it fits in with my work life we well as the time needed for the university work. As I am on a degreee apprenticeship I am going into university and it feels exactly how I would expect a full time degree to be experienced.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer supports me a lot and when it comes close to assignment deadlines they let me have extra time to meet the requirements for that work. I am able to speak to my line manager about university work and I input from other colleagues about my different assignments. Having the support from your employer has a great benefit

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • With studying on a degree apprenticeship there is a lot of support provided for all the different assignments and task that you get set. There is a lot of Content provided by the University as well as the library resource which they give you access to. Whenever I have had to ask my skills coach For help they’ve been happy to oblige.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification helps me to perform better in my role by having a better understanding of some of the techniques and practices I’m using to put into a real life situations whilst I am programming. A lot of my spare experience with programming previously has been self taught so to put it into stone how things work in best practice is nice.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There’s been many social activities like to get involved with the Work one of them being climbing to the top of the mountain and also social events of Christmas one that’s coming up soon is to do a 5 mile run over inflatable objects, which I plan to attend.

  • 9a. Would you recommend RedEye International to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Right from the start RedEye is treat me as a full team member I’m not considered as an apprentice and I got given exactly the same development costs as any other developer would. They make me feel appreciated and I get recognised for all the work I do. Additionally they also encourage us to share what we learn intercourse with others to share knowledge.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RedEye International?
  • When I was applying for RedEye international I didn’t have any good grades but they gave me a chance with some work experience and they saw my capabilities I think the main thing is they want to see your driven and happy to have a cracker anything, whatever the tadk may be.
