  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Mainly shadowing the operators on plant, often the day starts with a morning meeting to see the state of the plant then the plan for the day. After that just going out and doing lots of different bits from sampling, packing off, testing etc.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Every day you are learning new things especially when you get talking to some of the operators who have been here many years and have masses of experience about plant, process and equipment. Its also good having the technical knowledge from college and being able to use that on plant.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I am at college 2 days a week so have plenty of time to ask them things if I need to but if its out of those days i can either ring them or email and I will have a timely response which helps me on the problem i have been to them with. They are always helping us prepare for our end point assessment and NVQ meetings to ensure we do as well as we can do.
