  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My day to day role involves overseeing and watching the technicians taking notes and analysis of jobs they do whenever i can i ask questions and try to get hands on as much as possible because i feel doing the job allows me to retain the information better compared to just watching.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • the things i have learned so far is more general so when coming to work it’s more specialised jobs where what i have learned at college is irrelevant compared to work however a fair amount of things have been useful mainly the electrical subjects have benefited more and the hand fitting techniques is also used a lot at work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • as an apprentice Gatwick does a lot of stem events which is great for inspiring young people into thinking more about engineering and apprenticeships We go to schools and talk to young people and do little tasks with them that they have to overcome and work out. Gatwick also has a trip for the apprentices where we go to out of bound which is a week of team building and outdoor activities.

  • the biggest tip i could give is be as enthusiastic as possible believe in yourself as much as possible.
