  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role includes attending team meetings, responding to emails and completing tasks that facilitate requests to changes in the artwork of packaging components. Part of my team’s responsibility is to ensure we supply compliant stock to patients; this means communicating queries to marketing companies and coordinating appropriate actions with our other internal teams.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • So far during my apprenticeship I have developed numerous skills and know that I will continue to do so. Some of the skills that I am establishing are collaboration, time management, communication and adaptability . In particular, I have recently improved my presentation skills and as a result that has greatly increased my self-confidence.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I’m really enjoying my programme. I am supported by my manager and team and I feel that I’m welcome to be involved in different opportunities beyond my role and so I’m learning a lot. I find the content of my degree really interesting.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think my program is well organised and clear. I know what’s expected of me and the time frames of my programme as well as the degree aspect.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I feel really supported by my line manager, who always shares opportunities to learn or do something new and by my lovely team, the network of other apprentices internally and my mentor.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I think that my training provider could definitely do more to support me and the others on my course, whilst I really enjoy the content of my degree there is limited opportunity for feedback or support from my module tutors and responses aren’t quick, however there are good services to utilise through the university.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that the qualification that I’m working towards is hugely beneficial to my role and my general knowledge of my department and even the AstraZeneca as a company. I am developing skills and knowledge that closely relate to my work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • social activities are limited to being virtual, however there are many great virtual networking events. And externally the apprentice group is great :)

  • 9a. Would you recommend AstraZeneca to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because AstraZeneca is a great employer and a great place to work. I know that for me this is the best opportunity I could have asked for since leaving college.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca?
  • Firstly make sure to do your research and think about why it is the best fit for you. Then showcase the best version of yourself and be passionate about what you’re saying. And demonstrate that you have a real desire to learn and continuously develop.
