  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Supervisor of the site, make sure everyone know what tasks need to be done for the day, and that it is being done safely. Fix and problems that arise. Make sure the driver are taking the right load and know where they are going. Report to manager with any problems.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I was given the skills to solve problems that arise in different ways that I would usually handle them. I was shown how to delegate tasks out and to manage time, also I think it helped me develop my people skills and become more understanding and definitely more approachable person.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I definitely enjoyed the programme, even though at time it was difficult at times and made me think alot more about things and how that they can change quickly. It definitely made me better at my job and gave me skills I didnt have before and that I still use.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think the structure of the programme was very organised, it gave me deadlines that were easy to meet, but if I didnt it would let me have extra te to complete the tasks. I also had a great tutor who gave me 24/7 help if I needed it.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer gave me all the support that I needed while I was doing this apprenticeship, they gave me time to complete tasks while I was at work and also time off if I needed it. My manager was always there to help me if I needed his help it.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I received a great deal of help and support from my training provider, they gave me my own tutor who would always guide me and help me when I needed it via phone calls or video chats, also he would come to my site for assistance and guidance when needed.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that the qualification that I gained helps me a great deal in my everyday tasks for my job role, whether it's dealing with problems and or people, it gave me a better understanding of people and how I can use the skills I received to help them.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes at my company there are a wide variety of activities that they put on for team building and socialising as a company, whether it is the company football team or the managers meeting where we get to know each other and go socialise atfer, and even the Christmas events

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because they are a great company to work for who gives you support all round whether it is at work or in your home life. With there core values you really feel that they care about you as a person. They provide more of a family then a work place.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GRS Roadstone?
  • The advice I would give anyone applying for a job with GRS roadstone, is to just be open and transparent they are a great company to work for, and if your lucky enough to get employment with them, you will feel like part of the GRS family who are great.
