On a day to day basis my job consists of monitoring and running a complex chemical process, this can be both manual and using computer operations. This also means that there is a lot of working within teams and problem solving. There is also opportunities to be able to see all the parts of the sites operations.
Some of the skills which I use on a daily basis consist of team building with the different teams that I work with on a daily basis. Some of the others can be things such as leading the teams to build confidence and even problem solving skills to fix things that occur.
I am enjoying the job and all of the college and learning that comes with it. This includes both NVQ. Which also helps to guide my learning while I'm carrying out my job. During the college days this also links well to my learning and understanding of the job to help improve in future.
The structure of both College and work fits nicely together, this is linking both what we learn in the job and the theory side while were in college. Also, things such as NVQ helps to further our understanding and to get involved with certain tasks which help with our learning.
With my apprenticeship we get a lot of support from our employer, this can be from support with any college or NVQ work and any questions we may have around the course or units. To while were in work we have a learning and development building which we can go to for any work we need.
When working towards out qualifications, we can go to both our college and apprentice managers for any help that we need with our work. We also have support from our assessors for NVQ work if we need any and are struggling with things such as evidence and the kind of things that we need.
The qualification that I am doing in college links well to the role which i am doing in work with the different units and help to give me a much more clear understanding of the workings of the job. This also links well to the problem solving giving a more clear understanding of what's happening when something is out of spec.
There are lots of different events around the job, from trips to visit different sites to team building and events around the site. There are also sports teams that people can be involved in and also a lot of out of work activities that people can join in on at their own choice.
Yes
Syngenta is a good employer which I think a lot of people would enjoy working with, its both an interesting job and a good company to work for allowing you to gain new experiences and have the chance to develop and move to what roles you want to do in the future.
