During the second year, I spend every Monday at college and throughout the year I spend 4 weeks in a different department where, depending on where I am, I shadow qualified technicians, engineers and fitter/testers and aid them in their role.
I have learnt how to speak confidently to everyone I meet whilst maintaining eye contact. I have learnt technical skills relevant to my future potential job role
I love the apprenticeship and personally i believe it is a once in a lifetime oppurtunity.
Despite my enjoyment alot of the onus is put on apprentices to sort EVERYTHING out and sometimes I question what my manager actually does
My manager is pretty absent and I have not really had to deal with HR. My mentor differs from placement to placement and they have all been very helpful. As previously mentioned my direct manager does not get involved and when he does he is quite dismissive
A decent amount of support, they always upload ALL material relevant to assignments whereas upper management within the college is actually quite toxic and I believe they have an us (college) vs them (apprentices) mentality.
Not entirely relevant as i am learning about engines etc and hardly any electrification based topics

It is not all about qualifications, develop yourself as a person so that upon face-to-face interviews you impress
