  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Within my day at Solutions Squared I would check backups for clients, setup software and hardware, setup email accounts, monitor machines and make sure they are working correctly. I would go out and about to do cabling jobs and setting up IT systems. I would then be front of house and answer calls and enter ticket requests when they came in.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills within my Apprenticeship such as team building and also independent thinking. I have learnt self control and also time management. This is a very busy role so I have to make sure I have good speaking skills too. I have developed skills within packet tracer.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enjoyed this program as I have got to learn to on the job and also gain experience in a place of work i want to be in further along. I loved working in the team I have been in and hopefully they will keep me on at the end of the apprenticeship.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • This programme was very structured and I got updates almost weekly about the work I had been set out and what they expected of me in the process. I have been learning in college with the weekly classes and they have also set us work for outside of the classroom.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a lot of help from my employer such as help with tasks a found tricky and they have also taught me new skills that would benefit me in my role for this course and the job requirements for the office. I have also been mentored in certain areas.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I got weekly training sessions from college and they gave me a great understanding of the work that was set out. I enjoyed the lessons in college as it meant i could focus outside the work place to up my skills that way and then when i was back at work they would benefit me.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • What I have learnt in college has definatley helped within my role as I have become more confident as a person on the phone and in person actually doing the jobs. I learn something new each day within my role as their are always new tickets arriving into the office.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • For soical events we would go out for meals whenever it was someones birthday or special occasion. I would then get chances to do courses to learn about further work I could do for the company. When im not working a lot of my time is taken up with Running

  • 9a. Would you recommend Solutions Squared to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recomment Solutions Squared becuase they are very friendly and helpful in many areas of work and they give you time to learn at your own pace within the office and you get set side tasks to widen your knowledge on certain projects and you will always learn something new each week.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Solutions Squared?
  • Just be honest about how much work you have done as they can easily teach you the skills you want to knowand then from this itll be fun to learn about the company from every aspect. You will always be having a different day whenever you go in so just get ready to learn a lot of nrew things.
