  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt the importance of being organised with both my training and my job role. I have also learnt how important it is to have good communication skills and these have developed signifcantly since starting my apprenticeship. • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my training programme and I also enjoy talking to my work based learning managers, they are always very useful and make it clear that I can talk to and ask them anything. I find the content quite interesting and I can apply my knowledge within my job role.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is well structured and I am always aware of what is going on. I was sent a timetable for when my masterclasses would be, this was helpful so I knew when I would be able to add certain things to my portfolio work. I think that it is well organised.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support from my employer has been fairly limited because of this years circumstances and we haven't been able to carry out the marketing projects that we intended too. I have been supported by being able to take my off the job hours for masterclasses at home because there is not enough space for me to have my own area to listen and talk back now that everybody is back.

  • I receive a great amount of support from my training provider as I work towards my qualifications. • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There has been a lack of company events and activities as a result of Covid-19. I think that in normal times they did have some social events but these have obviously not taken place during my time here. When I am not working I am usually exercising as my job role isnt very active.

  • 9a. Would you recommend MarchantCain to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend working for this company to a friend, preferably after leaving school, because there is flexibility to explore different areas. I am going to go into Marketing, However I also have the flexibility to work in Purchasing too as it is a small company there is a lot of flexibility.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to MarchantCain?
  • I would advise people to definitely have an interest in the industry. For example, the automotive industry can be a bit boring for you if you have no interest in engineering or cars. Any job role in the organisation will require you to have some basic knowledge and understanding atleast.
