  • I help out as much as I can with every task I often have to do the most physical work like chasing and come the end of the day I have to pack up the tools and tidy any mess but it’s all part of the learning process I have to go through.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Since I started work I’ve learnt a not of new skills not just to do with work but also life skills. I’ve developed my determination and courage. I’ve learnt lots of physical skills in work like terminating sockets and how to use tools properly in the work place.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • My programme has opened new opportunities for me to meet new people and to make new friends it’s also gave me the opportunity to learn new things and has gave me a path to a future in electrics which hopefully let me have a successful life and do well for myself.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is in a order where you do different topics in different terms at college and do exams at the end of the topic to test your skills on that topic this allows you to work on one topic at a time which helps me not to get confused trying to focus on lots of different things at once.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive good support from my employer at work he explains why he does things the way he does and why that’s the most efficient way to do things. He always demonstrates how to do things and then lets me try it if I get it wrong he will correct me.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive good support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications as he always explains things well and gives our good work to do on a topic and if I need help he is always there to help me even if I’m not at college I can always email him to get help.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification helps me perform better in my role because I’m not just learning how to do the physical work of my qualification but I’m getting taught the technical side of it so when I’m doing something physical I understand the principles behind it and why’s it’s done like that.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is one extra curricular activity to get involved with which is a 6 a side football team this activity allows us to bond together out of work hours and to get to know each other’s personal side this helps us work better together at work and to get more work done.

  • Yes

  • I believe my company always has a good environment to be able to work in efficiently and happily I also believe that it is a good place to develop your career as a person and a electrician as you learn how to do your trade well and how to behave as a well rounded person.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Positive electrical installations?
  • I would advise someone applying to this company to come into the company willing to learn and to have high expectations. When you first join there will so much to learn and it doesn’t stop there you learn everyday and it is always good things to do it’s always high quality work.
