  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is focused on sales and growing partnerships with my account base. I have 3 larger accounts I look after and within my day to day role I manage my current pipeline, work on opportunities/ pricing, deal with customer requests and also proactively reach out to new account managers within my accounts set to grow my relationships and build new pipeline and sales, supported by marketing and incentives.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Although I had some previous sales experience, this role alongside doing my apprenticeship has taught me a whole new range of skills, in relation to selling and the sales process. I have definitely developed on my discovery and questioning skills and working on delivering better pitch's and presentations. The experience I am gaining on a weekly basis has been invaluable to my growth within work but also in my own personal life & confidence.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am only halfway through my programme and am thoroughly enjoying it, because I can feel myself growing and learning so much on the journey. My personal tutor has been supportive in guiding me through my project based work and ensures regular catch up calls to check in to make sure I'm on track. The sales workshops have been some of the best training I have ever sat through and the coaching style approach the tutor uses has a real lasting impact and I feel I've taken so much from this to apply within my sales role. The only slightly negative point is the CompTia training wasn't personally as effective I found.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is well set out right at the start and you are well informed ahead of time all the 3-day course dates for the year ahead. Communication is good and sessions have been well organized and planned out considering it has all had to be done virtually and in normal time it would be at a residential.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My line manager is supportive of my apprenticeship, I ensure to schedule in time specifically to focus on project work into my calendar and make him aware of my study day each week and he is always accepting of this. He joins every call required with my apprenticeship mentor and also he has put in a regular 1-1 coaching call with me to go over anything extra in my learning that I need support on.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have a personal mentor who is always on hand to support when I need and keeps in regular contact. Firebrand also provide resources for extra training materials that may be required, however there is a exam we took at the beginning of the year called CompTia and the 3-day training course tutor did not complete all the required content and it just wasn't well presented. Firebrand provided licenses for online training content relating to CompTia for only some of the students and not others (due to budgets I believe). I wasn't one of the students selected and unfortunately failed my exam, so I feel that I could have received better support here especially in terms of materials available to me to study the content.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel my course has had a huge impact on how I perform in my role, especially after the sales workshops as the training is really powerful in terms of the sales skills you learn, I find myself apply a lot of what I learnt from these in my everyday work life now.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • In all honesty i am not 100% on this question, I joined my company in the middle of covid and therefore I haven't had the chance to meet people face to face socially, so unsure on any sports that may run in normal life. However, last year we did have a few team evenings where we had team virtual drinks/ quiz nights.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Fujitsu to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Fujitsu is the best company I have worked for, the support I receive from management is incredible. The fact I am in a junior role amongst so many amazing experienced salespeople, everyone has been so understanding, patient and helpful with sharing their experiences which has been great for my development to be surrounded in such a positive support system. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity I have been given at Fujitsu, especially doing this apprenticeship alongside working with some top accounts. I hope to continue to develop and grow within Fujitsu post apprenticeship, as currently I could not be happier.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fujitsu?
  • I would recommend Fujitsu to anyone who has a strong passion and drive in their career development. The leadership team at Fujitsu are just as passionate about supporting employees in their personal growth goals. Its a lovely culture and atmosphere to work in everyday, and you feel so valued as an employee.
