  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role consists of actioning and maintaining the opperations that go on between our customers and suppliers, We offer services from data, networking, UC, mobile and compliance. we then manage these services for our customers.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many time management, social and personal skills throughout the apprenticeship. I have learnt how to manage learning and work along side, I also believe that this apprenticeship has developed my technical knowledge as a whole.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed my program, whilst no-one enjoys working I do believe that I am lucky to have found my placement. I enjoy the company and the colleagues I have gathered along the way and I am thankful for the oppurtin

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The apprenticeship is well structured, I work Monday to Friday making time for my own study and work. I also have a monthly meeting with my mentor which allows me to focus on what aspects need work - as well as any queries I have.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a good amount of support from my employer, whilst I manage my own time for work/study, I do receive alot of support from my team/employer in the form of spare time and teaching.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a good amount of support from my training provider, Whilst I do believe that the sessions are a bit far apart, this is where studying comes into play and I believe this has caused me to keep the information fresh in my mind.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification has helped me work within my role. Whereas you can learn skills and behaviours on the job, knowledge is hard to keep stored when only mentioned in passing comments. As Such the Knowledge gained from the qualification allows you to make sense of what you are experiencing.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Before Covid, the team would go out for social activities in the winter and summer as well as birthdays. As everything has been shut for a year we have not had much chance however I expect this to change as everything starts to open back up.

  • Yes

  • I would recommend DoubleEdge to a friend as I enjoy the work environment, The company offers the opportunity to work and learn simultaneously while offering multiple more opportunities to go down


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to DoubleEdge?
  • My advice to those applying would be to keep a professional manner and show off your knowledge of telecoms, this doesnt have to technical however you could explain the emerging use of teams or existing mobile knowlegde.
