i am tasked with light mechanical repairs, tyres and service jobs to complete on my own and at my own pace. along side this i assist the mechanics in harder jobs such as clutches, cambelts and engine rebuilds to learn how the job is done and better my understanding about that system.
alongside learning more mechanical skills i have also learnt how to communicate with the general public and our parts suppliers. this has built my confidence and has enabled me to be able to quickly and efficiently order parts, take payment from customers and discuss and book repairs for the coming weeks
i am really enjoying the programme at the moment as i have been able to advance my skills in the motor trade, i also am enjoying the programme as the the people i work with have made it very enjoyable and have welcomed me to the industry and its inner workings.
from aq work stand point is has been very organised from when i have to turn up at work to when i get breaks and rests it has been clear. although due to the events of last year the collage side has been a bit disorganised and not very enjoyable
the support my employer is second to none and cannot give me enough support in the industry. they have helped guide me in repairs and have also helped me think more for myself in what to do when something goes wrong or not to the plan or bill of the repair.
