  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is delivering Agile Transformation. This includes working in an fast paced Agile environment delivering incremental benefits and improvements for customers, colleagues and stakeholders. I work as part of a squad and report directly into the Product owner. Upon completion of a user story should that be research or delivering a change this is presented back with tangible benefits to our leadership team and our partners.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes working in an Agile environment I have had to learn how to manage my time and be as efficient as possible to ensure we deliver within Sprint. As part of my qualification learning lean as a Level 4 Lean practitioner I have learnt many more methodologies and ways of working.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Learning new skills has always been very enjoyable. I am fortunate to work with a great group of people who also share these interests so completing the qualification at a team is a very rewarding and beneficial thing to do. The program also brings variety to my daily role as I have the time on qualification days to wind down from Agile and reflect on other methodologies.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised and structured. On day one we had a set outline and timeline of each module and a summary of each stage. These are then booked into our calender's and everything arrives on time. My employer ensures a sufficient amount of time to complete any additional work provided.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager regularly checks in on progress and how the course is going. He is always available as a mentor or support to give guidance and observe anything that is raised. My employer is investing in my future as I continue to grow and develop as an employee and widen my range of skills.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training providers are very supportive. After the training has finished he is always reachable by phone or email to answer or support with any additional questions. In the sessions time is always taken to recap and confirm everyone's understanding to ensure everyone gets the maximum value out of the qualification.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Learning new skills and approaches is always beneficial. Having these in my locker that I can apply to my daily role is key to the success I have made in the last year. This allows me to work Agile but also using the key structures of Lean to analyse and interpret data and benefits.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there is normally lots of social events we get involved in at work however due to the recent outbreaks of Covid 19 this has not been possible. We always attempt to keep a social presence when working remotely should that be regular meetings with the team or down time used to complete fun activities as a team.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I have worked for Dixons Carphone for the last 9 years. Joining the business at 18 I was very new to the business world. I have been able to turn a job into a career and have an employer who has recognised my potential and investing in my future. I would recommend DC to any friends or family. If you are willing to work hard this is truly a company who will accelerate your growth.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Dixons Carphone?
  • Be yourself. Demonstrate who you are as a person and always be prepared to demonstrate what you can bring to the audience. This is a place where there is no profile you have to meet, you can be from any walk of life or background. If you can show your potential ,be willing to knuckle down, work hard and want to turn a job into a career join Dixons Carphone.
