  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is to support the regional team to deliver coaching, training and support where needed across the North East of Scotland. This covers up to 17 branches working along side the Regional Manger, the General Managers, Sales Managers and Sales Colleagues.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have improved my admin skills while delivering new projects. I have developed my coaching skills and have seen them improve greatly. I have learned new presenting skills, how to master teams and deliver online training.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The balance between work and the apprenticeship has been excellent and this has given me time to really get into the role and enjoy it.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • We had a few issues with the apprenticeship at the beginning to get things started but not that's been sorted its been excellent. There is good balance between learning and working.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have had lots of support from the business and they are fully committed to giving us the time to learn within this role. Any issues or questions we have had, have been sorted very quickly.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have had live classes which have been great. Lots of great information in the modules and lots to learn. All of this comes from great feedback from the instructors

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My role is a coach and the coaching qualification is a massive part of that. Its giving myself the proper structure and learning to coach to a much higher level. This in turn will help me supporting me entire regional team.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have had access to lots of coaching activities including, online coaching events, external training and networking events.

  • Yes

  • This is great company to work for with lots of opportunities. If you love technology or are passionate about sales and service then there is so much on offer.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Dixons Carphone?
  • Tailor your CV to the position your applying for. Go into a store an introduce yourself to the management team and get a feel for the stores.
