  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Supporting Regional and General managers with the coaching, upskilling and development of store sales colleagues to ensure they are always putting the customer first. I am the link between the stores and the Learning and Development team, cascading information and engaging the teams around the business focus areas.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills, coaching models and techniques that will enable me to be more effective in my role as Sales Coach, such as Motivational Theories, 8 types of Coaching Interventions. I have also developed many existing skills that I used in my previous role as General Manger.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the sense of community and support that comes from working alongside my peers on this programme. I also find the content very interesting and relevant to my role as Sales Coach.

  • I enjoy the structure of the programme. It is a blend of Virtual Classrooms, E-learning and Reflective Writing.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer has been very supportive and ensures that I get the equivalent of 1 day each week to focus on my apprenticeship.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My Learning Support Practitioner schedules regular catch up meetings to review progress and to offer support. I can also request a meeting if extra support is required.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The Coaching Professional Level 5 apprenticeship was created for my role and I believe this will upskill me with valuable skills and techniques that will enable me to perform better in my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many extra-curricular activities available to colleagues at all levels. This includes sporting competitions, virtual quiz nights. I also attend 2 company conference events each year and these are great opportunities to network with colleagues from other areas of the business and our manufacturer partner colleagues.
