My role is very generalist in its nature in the field of Administration. Being in HR, the admin in question revolves around making fixed term contracts for new starters and sending these out. Performing right to work checks on new starters over video camera and seeing the real copies of their documents due to Covid. Digital and hard copy filing of documents for consistency, while smaller jobs such as collecting the post. Finally onboarding all new starters onto our HR Systems.
Yes, my admin skills generally have improved through written communication and the constant use of Microsoft packages has made me more familiar with the most efficient ways to use them. I would also like to think I'm already an articulate person and voice my opinion, however, I think this skill has been strengthened throughout from speaking to so many stakeholders and being in a professional environment.
I enjoy the element of working and learning at the same time, as there is always something new and different to do every week.
My programme is organised well in the sense of knowing when I have to have my call once a month. However, due to it only really being a once a month interaction, it does feel like there may be less engagement then some apprenticeships and creating a bond with the tutor is important to come out with the best outcome and have no confusion in the tasks provided. Even though you can email throughout the month you only really have 1 catch up a month.
I receive a lot of support from my employer and the heavily experienced team around me, it is very beneficial to my progression and I thank them all very much.
The first month was a bit slow on resources and support available, however, the support has increased and more courses have been attached to my dashboard on the available learning websites.
My qualification so far has made me look into my company more than I would of If this course wasn't present and these basic things may be things that I get asked about from day to day and possibly effect me in that manor.
Yes, there is a football pitch in the own land behind the company building, while also being able to play video games on your lunch, as well as an on-site gym if that what takes your fancy.
Yes
If a lot of the skills learnt would be new and desirable to you, then LSP would be a beneficial company to use to learn your own companies fundamentals as well as broadening your admin and analysis tools.
Make sure you enjoy independent learning and can be focused through doing this every month while setting yourself targets on where you want to be.
