  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The main thing I've noticed is myself getting better at is Excel as prior to this apprenticeship I only knew the basics but now I have a wider knowledge of the different ways Excel can be used and it is now a tool I use in my daily life.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • There's certain tasks that are more enjoyable than others but I think that is a whole part of beginning work, meaning that it's beneficial to understand not everything you do for your job is enjoyable and that it is okay for you to like certain things than others.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say highly organised, I've been here 1 month coming up and I already have my own tasks to do on a daily basis. There is also frequent training that I'm given but it's always time efficient and when both me and my manager are available.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A great amount, my manager is constantly checking up on me and making sure I know what I'm doing but also she has a genuine interest in my life away from work. I feel like the fact she has an amazing understanding with the work life balance is fab.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I've only recently met my tutor so not much as it stands but I was made aware that I can contact whenever regarding 'off the job' work. Upon meeting she gave me examples and recommended techniques, areas and subjects for me to do working towards my exam next year.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Not much I can identify about how it's impacted my work life as there's not a plan set in stone as yet. I'm hoping that I feel less stressed and be more prompt to actual work tasks by having a day to myself for focusing on coursework.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Due to Covid-19 we have to social distance therefore as of now we're not able to mingle with other departments. I know before I joined the company that everyone would gather in the cafeteria and catch up with each other over lunch. Hopefully that comes back soon with luck.

  • 9a. Would you recommend theclancygroup to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Personally so far I've been made to feel like I've worked here for years, everyone is so welcoming. Also as it's a family founded business and is still run by family everyone has the 'work life balance' understanding. I'm glad to be here and would recommend.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to theclancygroup?
  • Definitely have to be confident as people who you don't know will start having conversations with you like they've known you forever. Not be intimidated by trying new things as this company has a huge range of training courses available for any worker in the company to attend.
