  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very well structured, I have my set off the job hours which is time I will spend studying. This is the same day each week which is consistent. Working though the academic side of the programme is extremely structured as we follow a strict time table /planner to ensure that we are covering the topics within a reasonable time period.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification differs slightly to my job role, therefore I would say that it has had limited impact on the progression of my job role, however it has provided greater insight into the Litigation process and what the clients go through before coming to us.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, I believe so. I have engaged recently in connect 4 and have been invited to attend a virtual escape room. The socials have decreased significantly due to COVID-19 but prior to this there was a lot to get involved with.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Irwin Mitchell to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend Irwin Mitchell as a place to begin your legal career as it is a well establish law firm across the UK and from my experience all staff members and colleagues are wanting you to progress as much as possible. The job role is great as well as the off the job time which is interesting. The apprenticeship is fully funded and supported and is a great way to begin your first role.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Irwin Mitchell?
  • My advice would be, do your research, make sure you are knowledgeable on the firm and their morals. Not only does this impress employers but will also provide a greater insight on what to expect when/ if you start at the firm. Also, be confident and believe in yourself.
