  • I have massively improved my engineering skills and I have also improved my ability to work as part of team

  • I really enjoy the apprenticeship as I am given lots of opportunities to apply my knowledge and work on things I’m not so confident with

  • The apprenticeship is very well organised and offers you the chance to gain skills that aren’t just learnt on your job such as forklift driving

  • We receive lots of support not just from the learning and development staff but also the employees that we work with on site who are teaching us the role

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Kirklees college provide lots of support and have kept in touch throughout the lockdown periods

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification gives me the base knowledge that I need to understand the production process which I can then take and apply to the production process on our site

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many extra curricular activities such as sports teams and social events that everybody is invited to which allows you to make more friends on site and build relationships

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • They care about their apprenticeship program and go out of their way to make sure that apprentices are getting the best training available


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Solenis?
  • Be confident when being interviewed as this will show that you are capable of working with people you have only just met and that you can get along with anyone
