  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Helping out with Career events on behalf of British airways at schools,colleges & larger career fairs. Advising students on the opportunities in offer within the industry. Including customer service roles, aircraft maintenance, cargo and head office roles. Signing students up for speedboats Z and giving out treats, pencils and other goodies to encourage them to sign up.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills and have improved a lot of my current skills. Mostly improved my people skills, and public speaking skills. Also improved my knowledge on the careers within a Avation. And learnt about other apprenticeships and work experience opportunities other than the ones I took part it myself.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoyed the programme. It’s very fun, to speak to people who were in the same place as I was not long ago. I also enjoy working with the other ambassadors and have made some very good friends! We Also help each other out with information as some of us carried out different work experience.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was very well organised from the beginning right through to the very end. The interview stages were very well organised and just as competitive as going they would be when going for a job so helps get very good experience. The programme itself was packed full with exciting things to do and we also had some exciting things added whilst we were going along!

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support systems were very good, if any issues arose we had the right contact details to let people know. Although we rarely needed to use these. They were there just in case of emergency. And the team were very quick with responses also which was very helpful for us.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Training was very good and essential for completing the role. It was also nice to get to know the other team members. The training included learning about different roles and learning how to speak publicly. This was very helpful as it is what was required when actually out at events
