  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Our role requires us to help plan and coordinate events from career talks at schools to inform students of the opportunities at British Airways to helping out at career events with our own stall in which students can approach us to ask questions about various roles. We also help with other aspects such as coordinating work experience interviews for potential work experience students.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have further developed various transferable skills from communication, teamwork and organisation as coordinating events have allowed me to have an active role to develop these skills. I have also developed leadership skills coordinating work experience interviews as I was required to carry out the group interview with the students ensure it was conducted professionally.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy the programme offered by British Airways because it has provided me with an opportunity to expand my skill set, meet new people and increase my network whilst also engaging with students to inform them of the opportunities available at British Airways whilst also learning more about the business when doing so.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well organised which is key to ensure all events and opportunities run smoothly. The team all coordinate well with each other which helps to ensure everyone is aware of what is going on and all the latest updates. We are also informed in advance of the events and what they consist of.

  • I receive a huge amount of support from my employer who informs us of all opportunities available in advance and in a very professional manner. This allows us to be organised and schedule events for when it suits us. If we have any questions we are always provided with contact details and receive an answer very quickly.

  • I receive a huge amount of support from my employer who informs us of all opportunities available in advance and in a very professional manner.   • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe my qualification helps me perform better in my role because it increases my commercial awareness which is so important working within any business because it increases business knowledge and helps to ensure you stay updated with important information. In addition to this, I believe it helps me perform better as it provided me with key skills to further develop myself.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • yes there are social activities and networking events which allow you to engage with your peers but also expand your network and meet new people who share knowledge with you increasing commercial awareness as well my professional network. the socials also allow you to create a better relationship with your peers outside of the work tasks.

  • Yes

  • I would recommend British Airways because it a growing, diverse company which has a range of opportunities which can be suited to individuals with a range of skill sets. The company provides support to ensure you meet your goals and grow as an individual and within a professional environment ensuring individuals and the business are a success.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?
  • I would advise individuals to research about the company in detail, understand how the business works on a large scale but also on a more day to day basis but also reach out to individuals within the organisation to find out more about British Airways and ask any questions they may have. In addition I would also suggest thinking about the key skills and individual has and how they can benefit them within a role at BA.
