  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is a data analyst which uses data to find patterns and trends to help drive business decisions. Common tasks in my role require me to create and maintain incoming data sources, process or transform this data a specified format which can then be queried through a variety of different tools. I would then take results discovered and arrange them into creative visualisations to become easier to read to the rest of the business.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The company are very supportive providing more than enough resources, support and freedom to help students through their studies. The induction was information packed maybe slightly too much overload for the first few days however it was a great time to also get to know other students on the programme and the teams they had been assigned to.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The HR team are always at hand when needed to help support students. There is a specific team just for graduates and apprentices. My manager although busy always makes time for 121 catchups to make sure I am heading in the right direction and to call out any changes or extra support is needed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Tutors are available for students most of the time. They have a good attitude towards the lectures and support for student. The quality of tutor can vary drastically. I have personally questioned some of the tutors abilities especially for subject matter experts and for the high-level of qualification we are completing.

  • Be yourself. Prepare background knowledge of the company and what media news they have been releasing you can see initiatives publicly this can help with the assessment days when they want to know how much of an interest you have.
