  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a technician. I start the day cleaning up and then get given jobs of my aptitude throughout the day to complete. Once completed i fill out my paperwork and go in for the next job.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy doing this type of job. I like a hands on job that keeps me busy. Sometimes it can feel slow due to me being over eager and wanting to get stuck in to the big jobs which are out of my league at this point in time.

    8/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I can't give a fair view on this as we are going through the pandemic with less work and we are also half way through moving our depot. This means we have limited staff to learn from and limited work to help me learn.

    5/10

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Recently i feel i haven't had much support as they haven't pushed me to learn anything new. I have been doing the same jobs over and over again.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Skillnet support me well and are always on the phone when i need them. They give me clear instructions of what i need to do to complete my work.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I haven't attended more than a week of college due to the pandemic so think its unfair to comment on this yet.

    5/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There have been zoom calls every now and then for apprentices to have a general chat about what we're all up to and how we're getting on.

  • 9a. Would you recommend MOTUS Commercials to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • They are a good company with lots of training once the apprenticeship is finished. There is plenty to do and a ladder to climb. Once the current situation is over it will improve and apprentices will be able to get a solid career with motus.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to MOTUS Commercials?
  • It can seem slow and boring at first but give it time as it gets interesting once you are capable of getting stuck in to your own jobs. Take in all you can from everyone else if you want to gain knowledge quickly.
