  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am in customer service where I deal with customers on a daily basis via email or our live chat system they ask questions regarding their insurance they have with us. Also deal with the post that comes in from the customers. I also help with calling customers if there is help needed on the phones, if an area has been affected by bad weather or floods we would step in to call and contact customers to see if they need help or need to make a claim. Sometimes we are given projects to do for example changing our macros to make them more customer friendly.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt new skills by being more confident and being able to answer questions in a group environment. Also has made me more aware of how to treat customers and the different ways to deal with more difficult situations. I also have been refreshed on my maths and english. Knowing the different processes you can go through to further my knowledge. I believe that you can always improve on customer service skills all the time and this so far has massively helped this.

  • I enjoy the program as this is giving me something else to focus on and improve my knowledge around customer service. Also i am enjoying very much the work given I like to be able to test my knowledge and get my teeth stuck into something I find extremely interesting. • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It has been very well organised considering we have been in the situation we have been in which has put a hold on the course for several months and then having to pick it up again. My tutor is always on hand with any questions I have for him and always willing to help. All the tasks given are well laid out and spoken about and always given an appropriate time to complete. Structure is given also in form or calendar entries to when we have to complete our tasks.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive support from my employer and encouragement towards the course, they are very helpful in the fact that they organise times for me to complete this on the job so that I get a chance to complete tasks when they are supposed to be completed. They also help in answering any questions i may need to put to them if I have any and are there to ask whenever I need to so very helpful.
