  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As a defence manufacture fitter /fabricator In Rolls-Royce I maintain and build parts from military aircraft, when parts require to be refurbished we use our engineering solutions and equipment to ensure the parts are up to their strict specification, i use many manual tools throughout the day including air equipment, lifting equipment and also frequently use very specific and specialist equipment to carry out the required task. With this we also interact with ever larger advanced technology like robotic linishers.

  • I have learnt many new skills in the apprenticeship, including both manual and technical skills, ranging from using a variety of handheld air tools, to learning advanced maths equations and even simply health and safety regulations and legislations

  • I do enjoy the programme

  • The programme has had some expected organisation issues at the beginning of the programme however this was overcome easily and the remainder of the programme he’s been well organised

  • I received support from my employer when I require and ask for it as well as frequent wellbeing check ups

  • An adequate amount including many resources and knowledgeable information from surrounding work employees, pass on of knowledges and gain from practical work

  • It helps you to gain proper techniques, helps you apply heath and safety and gives you applicable knowledge

  • Theirs sports teams including rugby, and an apprentice Association with organises fun event like paintball at discounted prices
