Hair stylist and barber, looking after clients, listening to clients and creating fun cuts and colours for mt clientele. Shaping and giving advice on how to create at home the style cut. Clean and clear section and help with salon clean up
Knowing my basic barbering, ive learnt more through training improving my knowledge further with mens beards and facial shaping and shaving, specialist scalp treatments to help with men who need help, new vocabulary and techniques I can use to creatively cut and colour mt clients hair
I really enjoy my programme, my tutor is amazing, she's always there when i need any advice, help or just to ask for some guidance. She has taught me so much, keeping me upto date with how best to approach these techniques into my work space and best way to do some facial shaving techniques and product knowledge. Great balance of practical and theory work
Although the programme seems like its long, it works well because it allows me to work my weeks in work and not have to worry about me having to squeeze time in between my days to sort college work, I give myself a few hours a week to gather my work and build for my off work learning portfolio and then make sure my work is ready for upload for the end date.
My employer is fab, she's always asking how am getting on, if I need to do any work that I can do in a quiet time and to make sure I can have help and guidance if I need. She allows me to expand my knowledge through watching her cut mens hair and to also have my own clients to create fun cuts on
Amazing, my tutor is always there and a text away if I need so any.problems and she can help. My only negative is the pdf files to this apprenticeship - my laptop doesn't always work with what the programme needs us to use, however my tutor is always there to help me out
its given me the knowledge and practical skills and experience to adapt and use in my clients haircuts as well as possibly adding some services to our salon.
So as a team we try to get together for some social entertainment together, go out for our birthdays together, team bonding events and drinks and food as a team. We have done educational things together like hair classes and going to shows together to help each other bond and build strength of the team up
