  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Since working at UBS my knowledge on a variety of systems have improved. When joining the apprenticeship scheme I have little to no knowledge on how to properly use excel - now this is a staple part of my day. I have also got the opportunity to be exposed to many different data analytics tools which will be useful throughout my career. In addition to this my time management skills and communication skills have come on leaps and bounds. I can now effectively plan my day and deadlines as well as insuring that i get my point across effectively in emails

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The team that I work with are very supportive and are always finding ways to challenge me and build on my skills. The work itself is very interesting and allows me to interact with many different stakeholders and grow my network outside just my UK team. The company culture works effectively as to encourage teamwork integrity and challenge in order to collaboratively achieve the best results. It surpasses my expectations as to working in a team and office environment.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • This program itself has been very well structured and working with the growth company has always been a pleasurable experience. I have received support all year round when required and never had an issue with contacting them. I have also enjoyed using the mentor system to further my corporate knowledge and receiving advise outside of my team when appropriate.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification through the growth company has ensured that I am well equipped for my role, ensuring that I have all the regulatory background knowledge for every task that I am completing. The theory from my exams helps me not only to better understand the banking industry but also how my team works together and the theory behind it. Without completing my qualification I would find completing my role more challenging

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have been lucky enough at my time at UBS to have the unique experience to attend a team workshop in Switzerland as an apprentice. This allowed me to meet members of my team I had only ever spoken to on Skype and network with colleagues I have never had the opportunity to talk to before.

  • 9a. Would you recommend UBS to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The company is a great environment to work with a culture that supports everyone and strives to produce the best. The company provides a great work from home system which was able to seamlessly support the capacity when employees were forced to permanently work from home when lock down begun the in UK.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
  • The application process and interview day were seamless. UBS provided excellent communication throughout the whole experience. Continuing to keep great contact between receiving the offer and actually starting the job which for me was 5 months. The onboarding process was easy and everything was explained well. There is nothing more i would have expected UBS to communicate during my onboarding.
