  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I help produce dashboarding and reports on the progress of cloud and security sales, these are then sent to senior leadership teams. I also raise requests for various sales opportunities we have ongoing, upon raising I then maintain the request and talk to the various people to keep the request progressing.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Included in the apprenticeship is qualifications with various Microsoft products, one of these I am doing is MS-900. Another opportunity I have had is to do training to become an AWS practitioner. I have also developed personal skills, I have improved communication skills such as email etiquette and how to present myself during phone calls/face to face meetings.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am enjoying my apprenticeship so far, I have learnt so many new skills and developed existing ones. My team all help and look out for each other. The company spirit is fantastic, especially during the crisis at the moment. The role is exciting and is always changing and developing which makes for never a dull day.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The initial induction set us up adequately for our path through Vodafone. I have received good quality training from Intequal however there isn't as much communication from them as I'd hope. There is a suitable work/apprenticeship balance so I have enough time to get all my work done. The team supports one another to make sure we all get the work done.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager is excellent! She makes sure I am happy and getting my work done and always supportive of any issues I may have. I have a sales mentor to go to if I have any further end to end questions. Vodafone offers so much support, there is so many programs to help employees.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • There isn't as much communication as I'd like from Intequal however they are approachable and if there's any problems/questions I know it can be sorted. My tutor is really supportive and understands the work/apprenticeship balance so if flexible with deadlines. The training sessions are helpful but seem slightly unorganised.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification is providing me with tools to do my job better, a good example of this is the current MS-900 training I'm doing. I'm learning about products I'm actually assisting in selling. This gives me better context and the ability to actually answer technical questions rather than forwarding them on.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there's plenty of communities at Vodafone. Ranging from football to book clubs. This helps separate the work/life balance and makes me feel like there's more to work. These events take place everywhere. When not working I socialise with work friends I've made from coming on this apprenticeship.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Vodafone to a friend?

  • 9b. Why?
  • There's so many opportunities, there's a job for everyone here. The community is so welcoming and friendly. The Vodafone spirit really shines through. Vodafone helps accommodate any support you need and really understands the work/life balance. There's so many opportunities to learn and build on yourself.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Vodafone?
  • To be yourself. Vodafone is so welcoming and understanding. Don't be afraid to ask questions, there's so many different terms and everyone is happy to help one another. Make effort to network with different people. You can learn so much and everyone wants to teach and support one another.
