  • My role currently is a Material Coordinator. This involves working within the team to allocate materials and specify which products are needed for specific markets.

  • During the time of my apprenticeship I have developed confidence in myself carrying out tasks but also during meetings. I have also learnt skills such as leaning specific systems needed to carry out my role.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy the apprenticeship program I am on within sourcing and supply with AstraZeneca. I would highly recommend for anyone who is interested in business as you gain a full insight of sourcing and supply.

  • the program is well structured and organised. if you are unsure of something your questions will always be answered.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • personally I receive lots of support from my manager/s to complete my University work as time is split 20:80. 20% of time spent on uni work and the other 80% in work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our training provider supports us on the lead up to the question release date and also during the answering period. Likewise if I am unsure of something I just ask either through the online classes or through the online forum.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • the qualification I am currently completing is international trade. this gives me an oversight of how the supply chain works but depending on the team within the sourcing and supply area depends how relevant the qualification is.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • yes, there are extra-curricular activities such as quizzes and the annually Christmas party and other seasonal events. there is often an annual family event and science events held.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • If someone is looking into apprenticeships as an option instead of University I would highly recommend AstraZeneca as they have a range of apprenticeships available from science to business .


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca?
  • Research! just like when applying for anywhere, research into the company you are applying to and if you specifically know which area you want to go into research into that area too.
