I am a Trainee Document Controller. Daily tasks for me are issuing documents & drawings correctly via our systems, making sure all documents/drawings/workpacks are attached in the correct place for the engineers to view, filing the hard copy of documents etc in the correct place, helping with any duties I am asked. My daily interactions internally are with the engineers and daily interactions externally are with our clients. I work on the Central North Sea Project (CNS) and help out on the BOL E&C Contract when required.
I have been on two training courses during my training which are ECITB Introduction to Project Controls and a Certified Document Controller Course. While being on this trainee scheme I feel I have gained more confidence when it comes to speaking to people about work related problems my confidence is growing more as time goes on and i'm learning more. I've also learned a lot more about document control and the industry since starting.
I really enjoy the work I do and I work with a great team! The programme is great as your learning new things all the time and you always have someone on hand to help if you have any queries with anything or are unsure about something. I have enjoyed it since I started and still am.
I feel as valued as anyone else and my work is appreciated. I get involved with tasks and projects as much as I can.
The introduction was very well structured told us a lot about what would be expected of us and information about the company. The training system is good and if your ever unsure about anything you know you can ask questions. If you require any study time you are allowed some time depending what the everyday work load is. The mentor system is good and it lets you know if there are things you don't want to speak to your lead about you can speak to them.
I receive help and guidance with any problems I have and they always seem happy to help. Which makes it more enjoyable as you don't feel as if your annoying them with your problems.
The same as above everyone seems more than happy to help with any problems.
My salary/package meets my costs quite well just now.
There are usually graduate/trainee night out's that get organised and there are other things you can get involved in such as helping out at local schools.
Yes
I feel it's a great company to work for and great people to work alongside and it's a good opportunity.
