  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in the valuation department. My job involves assisting and completing valuations of properties for banks for lending purposes.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, a number of skills in the two years of being on the apprenticeship. I feel confident that I am able to assist on valuations and am aware of the roles and jobs in other sides of the real estate industry aside from valuation.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Very much so, the time spent doing university work and valuation work is often productive and time is spent learning. Furthermore, there are perks of working for Savills, including client entertaining and department away days.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is well structured, we follow government guidelines to degree apprenticeships and all who it concerns know how it is run. The degree is well structured to about the real estate industry as a whole .

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot, my employer and colleagues are happy to answer questions I may have on my degree and are accommodating at times I need help or time to complete my assignments.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive the required support and teaching to gain the degree. Due to the degree being 'online' it is not as supportive as classroom teaching which requires me/ the apprentice to be more proactive and happy with independent learning.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • A great deal, if not I would not know different intricacies required to value property.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes a great deal, we are involved in client entertainment, department away days, department sport events, graduate based sports events, whole company sports events and even whole company entertainment!

  • 9a. Would you recommend Savills to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I think its the perfect place to learn and work if you are someone who is interested in the real estate world. As market leading advisers, it will be hard to find somewhere to learn, and socially I think I am lucky to work with outgoing, good people.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
  • Express your desire to succeed in the industry and express yourself as we like working with and being interesting and interested people.
