  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a business analyst at Unilever which means that I am required to set up meetings and take notes about the ins and the outs of my team and how they operate and I see how or where I can improve their efficiency.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a range of different skills and gained multiple certifications and general skills from my apprenticeship and am able to take external qualifications and exams with my managers approval.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love my programme my team and company are both very helpful and supportive through everything I do and as soon as anything gets at all too much or I am struggling they are there to help in any way that they can.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The initial day was a little all over the place however the rest was fine and went smoothly. The training provider left us without a LDC for almost 4 months.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive plenty of support and if need be I am able to request even more we have a 24/7 helpline for anyone or anyone's family that require any sort of support at all and my entire team are supportive in everything I do and constantly ask if I need help

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I am in constant communication with my LDC whilst she supports me in my role and ensures that I am completing my work and my Training all correctly and to an adequate level and during my training days were we go away to the training centre our LDC comes along to help us and support us

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Not everything necessarily links up to my work however all of the skills that I am learning can be used or changed to fit my role in some way and in the long term will be more helpful and broadening of my overall knowledge.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are company wide exercise classes such as yoga, Zumba, jogs, weights etc. these are all held in the main building and allow for you to network more with the people in the office that you wouldn't necessarily speak to on a day to day basis.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is an agile working place meaning you are given independence on your working hours and are allowed to do what you want as long as your work is getting done, plus the salary is very good for the type of job role that this job is and requires of you.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
  • Show your knowledge but also show some personality and don't be afraid to speak about what you want too, the business don't just look for smart and people with good IT or business knowledge. Show your empathy and understanding of sustainable growth and sustainable living
