  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Really enjoyed course. Although learning was separate to job, the course was inline with all the skills i needed to improve within my role. The programme allowed me to move departments (and be promoted) at my own pace (before completion) so i wasn't left waiting for it to end.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • built in partnership to make the course relevant to my work. course learning started a few months into job to allow time to settle into the role before learning began. Study days allowed me to complete the course comfortably and wasn't left doing a lot of work in my own time.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a paid study day once every 2 weeks for 2 years which allowed me to comfortably complete that side of the course. There was also opportunity for a further 10% of my time to be used to upskill, gaining experience from a variety of colleagues both in my category and within other job roles.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Support has always been available from both tesco and Peopleplus. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] from peopleplus was always available to answer emails/calls with queries as well as prompt marking, regular development days and the use of conference calls for some additional modules. all feedback was clearly noted so it was easy to understand

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The modules are heavily linked to my role and in a fairly logical order. when i first began the modules were around communication forms/types for example which was useful as someone new to the professional world. The course is business and admin related so stretches beyond the entry role (helping me perform in my promoted role also)

  • 9a. Would you recommend Tesco to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The experience of moving down to welwyn garden city on my own at 18 has been made a lot easier by the supportive and professional teams working within the business. Since then there have been a lot of opportunity for progression as i gain new skills and take on different projects.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Tesco?
  • Be open minded, i was unsure what the course would involve and wasn't fully sure what the job i was applying for entailed. Be interested, look into what's important to tesco and maybe some key initiatives they have going on for example with the sustainability and packaging project
