I have been spending time within the office, understanding the processes and roles a trade will pass through before being given to a trader. After working with Fmas, analysts and traders within equity I have been able to gain a really good insight into M&G and the different roles and opportunities they offer.
When On my work experience I was able to learn a lot about the investment management industry which have me a good understanding of what was to come if I chose this career I also was able to learn skills such as how to apply for apprenticeships and the recruitment process with tips on how to stand out from all of the applicants
I really enjoyed the work experience with such a great environment and culture to work. I felt very comfortable with a great hosts [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] who was able to help. The experience was so well organised being able to visit different departments as well as being able to work in a team
My work experience was organised by [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions]. As I was on the investment 20/20 programme we had only a few hours each afternoon to spend with M&G however it was very well organised meeting with our mentors each time we arrived within a plan of who we would see already set our meaning it was very smooth
I learnt a lot about M&G while on out work experience from there open working space through to their care about ethical factors. It’s a great and friendly environment to work with everyone being so helping towards apprentices or work experience I felt comfortable to always ask questions and all of the staff where so helpful
I was able to really see that investment management was something something I wanted to go into after attending the work experience. Before the week I was unsure on the career I wanted to go into however after understanding the wide variety of roles available as well the environment at M&G it’s definitely a career I look forward to going into.
I was on an investment 20/20 programme so this was arranged with them to pay for our weekly travel where we recieved £50
On my work experience I was rotated around 3 different departments so I was able to speak to a very wide range of employees and apprentices who where in my position this was very helpful to understand the kind of role I would like to do.
Yes
M&G is a great environment to work with so many opportunities to develop and move and they really care about there employees with lots of opportunities to change roles as we’ll progress in your career
Research M&G before you attend the work experience and know a little about investment management this is not important if you don’t as everyone is so helpful but the basics will help you be able to have useful conversations and understand what’s going on.
