Supporting and shadowing senior engineers, this may consist of contributing to documents such as schematics and layouts using AutoCAD or amending schedules and reports.
Developed new skills in software such as Hevacomp, IES and REVIT. As well as built upon previous knowledge of other software such as Excel. Continually developing and learning different aspects of the building services industry.
I enjoy the programme as it consists of the right amount of learning/contributing to meaningful work that the company can issue. I enjoy the opportunities given to me and working on multiple different projects.
The programme at chapmanbdsp is well structured and it is clear to me what I should be working on now and in the future. The training courses provided have been scheduled well in advance so it is clear to me and my team.
The support I receive from my employer is good and I know that the support is there if I need it. There are multiple people that I would feel comfortable raising an issue to and I'm confident it would get resolved quickly.
I have an assigned tutor/mentor that I can receive support from if needed. Furthermore, there are lots of resources available on the internal company drives if I need to access information.
Some of the theory I have learnt can be applied directly into the work I'm carrying out, however I wouldn't say this is on a daily basis. Some modules from the training provider I feel have been more beneficial than others such as AutoCAD and REVIT modules completed.
There are lots of networking events going on which allows me to meet new people internally within the company, as well as other people within the industry. As well as this there are sports team which I am actively involved in with the company
Yes
It is a enjoyable environment to work in and it has been a great place for me to begin my career and learn about the industry.
During the application process I was asked to do a presentation, make sure it's something you're comfortable presenting about as you may get asked questions.
