My role provides me to lead a team. I do this by keeping the team motivated and always being available to provide help to customers and the staff. I also have to open and close the store which involves cashing up the money at the end of the day. There are many other aspects of my role.
I learn new skills everyday as you learn new skills in life. By doing the apprenticeship i have learnt much more about the retail sector as a whole and how it works. I have also adopted management techniques that i learnt from doing the course which in turn have made me better at my job
I really enjoy the programme as i am learning new things all the time, i want to continue to develop and work my way up the ladder in retail so doing this course is very enjoyable for me. I hope that completing this course allows me to do develop my skills.
I have found my programme has been quite unorganized, however i have not allowed it to affect my learning. I enjoy learning on my own so the fact i haven't really had a trainer hasn't bothered me to much as its allowed me to just crack on with my work.
My employer has provided me with a lot of support which has really helped me to work through the course. I've has meetings at head office with the learning and development team and meetings with my manager on a regular basis so that we can do training and complete the skills endorsements.
I haven't received much support but that's due to the fact i didn't have a face to face trainer for 8 months, however now i have a trainer again i'm hoping that i will have more support so that i can get the best possible result.
Its definitely helped me to perform better in my role as i have learnt so much from the programme. For example i have learnt more about HR policies and procedures which have really enabled me to understand more about dealing with difficult staff members. I feel like because of the course i'm now ready to make the next step in retail
No we don't have any extra curricular activities in work. However once a month our manager does try and arrange for us all to go and do something fun as a team so that we can all spend more time together outside of work, giving us time to bond.
Yes
I would recommend this company to a friend as i have learnt a lot about the job sector that i would like to wok my way up. Due to this face i now feel ready to work my way up in management and thats why i would recommend to a friend
I would advice them to keep trying and keep going no matter what. Id also advise them to use the company they work for as much as possible so that they can learnt the most amount of information that is possible. I would also advice them to speak to people if you have any issues.
