i am a fabricator welder which insist of the following job roles such as; WELDING GAS CUTTING GRINDING FABRICATING on a day to day basis i will mainly be fabrication beams or welding beams it can be either of the two depending on what the supervisor wants you to do
i have learnt many skills while working here such as welding, gas cutting, grinding, craning, manual handling, and communication efficiency with work colleagues
it was hard to get use to at the start of the apprenticeship but i gradually got use to it and started to enjoy it making new friends and learning new skills
it is well structured at work but not so much at collage as it has been up and down for the last 2 years with teachers leaving and then not having no teachers which has then put us back on work and our nvq work
we get as much support as we need here if we ever have a problem we can always seek advise or guidance from supervisor or management which is very helpful
we received a little bit of support but because we have had no teachers for a lot of the time and assessors for our NVQ it has made it really hard to make any progression on completing our work.
it does help a lot because i know what outcomes it can help me wit when i leave and want to move to bigger and better things in my career.
yes we have the odd event or football tournament that work do which is good because it is sociable and a laugh and they also do a lot of charity advents such as walks and runs.
Yes
because you learn a lot of good skills and ability's for later on in life and when you come to completing your apprenticeship you have good qualifications to take you to the next level
i would say you have to be well organised and equipped for the job. and differently expect a shock to the system what will take time to get use to
