1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves working within the Strategic Analytics team within Barclaycard Cards and Payments. In my role I deal with existing customers and their pricing plans. I use a range of tools in my day to day office life such as SAS EG or Tableau.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The main thing I learnt was about the different applications of data. I also learnt to code within SAS, R and Python.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed my program a lot. Whilst it took a while to enrol on the course the program managers were very transparent with what is going on.

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

The Barclays programme is very well structured with there being plenty of support around you. The team you are placed in one specifically chosen to suit you. The course on the other hand needs a bit of work.

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received support from plenty of people at Barclays.

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We get assigned a QA coach who visits every month.

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification covers both practical and theoretical aspects of data management and analysis. It covers quite a bit.

8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are plenty of sports/social clubs to join and plenty of networking events for you to get involved in.

Yes

9b. Why?

Joining Barclays has been one of the better choices I have made in life. The career path I have chosen I believe suits me and it feels like my managers and colleagues are very supportive of everything I do.

Take advantage of everything that Barclays has to offer.
