My position was about giving administrative support to the team of three people. Usually, the day started with checking the emails and replying to any client's queries, then according to the project we were working on that moment, I had to contact clients, preparing presentations, and very often going to events within the art sector.
The most useful skill I have learned from this experience has surely been the ability to multitask, work on different projects at the same time and maintain an high level of attention to details. I have also learned how to deal with clients at every level, on the phone, via emails or in person.
I enjoy the experience very much. It has been a fantastic kickstart to my career in the art sector and I could not ask more. I did not have very high expectation but working for this company has really exceeded what were my toughts about it and it has taught me the basis of administration.
The work experience was not very well organized. It undoubtedly lacked a bit of communication between managers but after the first moments when I did not know other people in the team and they did not know me everything went well and we were able to find which aspects I wanted to learn more and improve.
I think I have learned quite a lot about the company, the various positions in there and more in general the whole company culture. Spending quite a lot of time with the funder and CEO made me enjoy even more the athmosphere in the office, which was anyway very friendly when I arrived.
Working in this company has definitely helped me in deciding for my future career path. At first i was not even sure I wanted to stay within the art sector, but this experience made me realise that was what I wanted, so this is already a great point. Additionally, I could experiment a lot of different tasks and role within the company and this further helped me.
I was reimbursed for my daily expenses only, such as travel and lunch cost. Of course, I would have preferred to receive a proper salary, but I have to say that the fact this working experience was not paid did not make the experience less meaningful than it actually was at all.
Yes, definitely. This was one of the main perks of this working experience. I was lucky I could take part in most of the events together with the founder of the company. These events included talks, presentations, and fairs, where I was able to meet a lot of professionals and other people in the sector whom I could network with.
Yes
For me, the opportunity has been great for a lot of different reasons. First, you can gain experience in the sector and at the same time, you can have fun attending events and meeting people. At the same time, you will be doing researches and will learn everyday valuable notions and skills.
I would say to others who intend to apply to do it with no hesitation. The job is not the easiest, but if you are willing to learn then there is a lot of space for you. The application process is easy and even during the interview, you will not receive complicated questions.
