  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role involves taking calls to customers and helping them with their everyday banking enquiry's. This can range from all sort's of problem's, the aim is to provide a pleasant experience and make sure customers problems are solved to the best of our acknowledgement and ability. Along side of the weekly roles, we attend buzz sessions (Training), team meetings and keeping our knowledge up to date. We also have 3 hours to do our apprenticeship, to keep this updated and so everything runs smoothly.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I would say my maths and English have improved a lot since joining the Barclays team. Also I have gained more skills from just being within the role, it's also made me more aware of my own personal banking and ways to improve the way I spend.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my role and the people I work with, the apprenticeship itself has been a bit of a shamble due to Knowledgepool taking over and not really being attentive, compared to the support we were having from Barclays coach's. It's been nearly 5 months and we still haven't met our new coach's, supposedly we shall be meeting them soon and they will be getting involved but if I'm honest, I find this has really set me back with my progress as I require support as I'm not used to this kind of knowledge.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Barclays to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Because they are a great company to work for, they really care about their customers and employee's, driving them to opportunities they didn't even know where capable of. There are plenty of things to get involved with to help the communities and give stuff back to the public, they also have great perks for working with to say thank you for all the hard work that employee's put in.
