  • Mainframe Technology Apprentice :- I am a part of Operations Team. •Daily tasks :- Monitoring of Changes,Incidents and any conference calls happening around Barclays related to Tandem(Tandem is server which supports all GBS,ATM/PDQ,AS400 Systems) •Daily interactions internally :- We work in project within bank for 24/7/365 Days.So we need to handover internally all ongoing changes/incidents/emails/calls/issues/impacts/updates to our next shift. •Daily interactions externally :- We provide 24/7/365 Days support to clients which includes VISA/MasterCard/Barclaycard. •Responsibilities :- Monitoring of issues and findout the root cause of Issues and escalate to futher team to avoid impact. Keep up follow until the issue is resolved.

  • New Skills Developed :- Web Development /Website Designing HTML,Html 5,CSS 3,JavaScript,Angular,Node Js,Jquery,CSS and JavaScript Frameworks,CSS Preprocessing,Version Control/Git. ...Responsive Design. ...Testing/Debugging. . Existing Skills :- Enhanced Soft Skills.As The written and verbal communication skills required to articulate effectively to your Technology Team.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • My experience being a Apprentice is exciting.What I like most is being in a position that allows to see the BIG PICTURE how the program is performing in-line to the strategic goals, mission and vision. I am learning every single day making my career growth each and every moment.

  • Structure of programme is well orgainized.Various Tasks,Assessments has been provided to us to accomplish.Various Objectives also are provided in timely manner.Planning is done in well organized manner.Due to which we are able to achieve success and growth.Constant support is also provided to make sure we go through ease of programme.

  • A lot of support is provided by employer throughout programme. Training is provided with ease and on time. Learning with practicals is helping us growth in pace. Employer support us on every step for any issues we are facing. Supporting makes sure we achieve goals and ambitions within the programme.

  • Training Provider support both in case of theory as well as practical. They also Developed a training plan. They Review and test the progress of us and provide feedback. They Provide training to support the apprentice with off-the-job learning and the knowledge elements of the programme. Also Identify the right skills from us.

  • Due to Training provider I have Improved communication skills , Work harder and smarter,Always come to the table with a solution,Anticipate your department's needs.Study team objectives.Achieve goals in timely manner.Manage Interruptions.Set Milestones.Be a Great Finisher.Organize & Prioritize. Create a daily schedule and follow it.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes,There are lot of citizenship activities that takes place and we get involved in it. Do volunteer work.Community Service. WaterCup Foundation "Save Water" / Blood Donation are few of them. Fund Raising for charity is also one if it. Exhibitions are also a part we takes part in as extra-curricular activities .

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barclays?
  • Barclays is all about fun and growth. Barclays have a good structure. Dreams remain dreams until you take action. Thus Barclays is one place to achieve. Learn something new every day. Have the mindset of a student. Never think you are too old to ask questions or know too much to learn something new. Barclays will support every step.
