  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work on covering gaps in the Bristol Area. I will take general calls and incident reports. I will also communicate with area managers to notify them of any gaps that have come up recently. I also generate reports to see which areas are available to work on a particular day.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have develop some existing skills on Excel which has helped improve my overall productivity levels. I have also learnt how to give to give detailed power point presentations without having to look at the computer screen. I learnt how to use timegate and the benefits of using the system to generate reports.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme immensely as I work in a very diverse environment that always presents new challenges. It has allowed me to grow as an individual and give me more stability overall. it has also given me more direction with that I would like to do upon the completion of my course.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very well organised as I have a set day to do independent studying which takes up 20% of my apprenticeship. I am also given set days for reviews and observations so i can receive feedback on what I have done well and what can be improved on.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer gives a lot of support and asks if II need anything else to help complete the course. This can range from studying on different days and being able to write reports whilst doing on the job work. This is great as it makes me feel like i valued member of the team. .

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provides one to one observations and lays out targets with my line manger. These goals will be sent to me on my portfolio so i can see how what needs to be done and that motivates me further to complete the course. The added support is very helpful.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification helps me perform better as I know more about the company and their rules. It has helped me become a more confident worker who knows what to expect on a day to basis as well as what to expect from my team members. The qualification is fine tuned for my job role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At Total Security Services there are several extra-curricular activities to get involved in that take place at work or outside of work. There are things such as table tennis, snooker and fuseball. We have also had a summer and Christmas party and these are are all great ways for the team to bond.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend the company to a friend as the job provides stability ad a great environment working. You can see how T.S.S promote within and enable individuals to work their way up within the company. This gives employees something to strive towards when working for this company.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to T.S.S. (Total Security Services)?
  • I would advise others to think about what they would like to do firstly and then look at what the job roles entail and see if they think they would be good in that position. I would also tell others to show that they are hardworking and punctual as tat is a great foundation for being successful.
