  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • my role in t.s.s is as a controller on a day to day basis is to cover shifts and deal with enquiries from officers and store managers. we work as part of a team to cover different areas that we are tasked with at the start of the day.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • since joining tss I have developed many new skills as learning to use excel as well as improving my customer service skills and learning how o work as part of a team and in an office environment. I have also improved my skills in persuading by convincing officers to go to shifts.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have so far really enjoyed my time at tss. everyone has made us feel welcome and it is a good friendly environment for new starters to come into. Managers have always offered help when needed. We have also have company events such as a summer bbq and Christmas party.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Our programme at tss has been organised and structured well as training on office systems and practices have been provided as well as shadowing current controllers who have had experience they can share with us. We have also been given targets to improve and guidance to helping us achieve these targets.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • we receive a lot of support from our employers. for example managers are always offering advice and tell us to ask them if we need anything. Other departments to the control room also offer help for example when I had some personal issues a member of the HR team offered advice and help

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have received a lot of extra support from my tutor for the qualification who has sent me lists of missing work and helped to set up a plan to get up to date on the work as well as sitting with me and explain the system learning assistant to me.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • my qualification is designed to benefit and develop us with the working side of the apprenticeship it is specific to the job we are doing so has helped us develop out leadership skills, customer service and confidence when dealing with stores and officer queries and concerns they may need help with.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • at tss there are variety of events and activities to take part in for example we regularly organise nights out, company events such as the Christmas party. We also play football every Thursday night at goals with the London office. other activities are offered such as a pool table and yoga on a Wednesday.

  • 9a. Would you recommend T.S.S. (Total Security Services) to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • At TSS it is a very friendly environment and atmosphere where help is offered from managers and colleagues when needed. As well as providing events and extra curricular activities that help people get to know each other. Working for total security services has been a great experience that has benefited me.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to T.S.S. (Total Security Services)?
  • Tips and advice given to others applying to work for Total Security would be not to panic or worry about the job or having experience or qualifications. Total security give us the chance to earn this qualifications as well as gain experience without pressuring us too early. They are very encouraging and a great company to work for.
