  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Back Office Support to client advisors and there assistants to help support the clients accounts, the roles include running checks on clients to check for wrong doing, acquire client statements and valuations of the accounts, assisting CA's in prospecting for new clients, and just day to day assistance for the team

  • Yes, this role has helped me to develop my communication and confidence skills at a much higher level as well as helping to improve efficiency and organization skills as I have to manage a workload based on importance to the client and ensuring I meet deadlines to maintain a good reputation

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy the program as its is incredibly well structured and organized giving us clear and importance tasks, with a wide range of support from everyone on the floor as well as working with a very kind and friendly team many of whom have been in the same position as ourselves

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program is very well structured as in the Wealth Management department the program has been running for 6 years so the roles and responsibilities of the apprentices is very clear and organized giving us clear instructions on what we can do from the beginning as well as how we develop on to new tasks as well as offering a wide range of support and assistance

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We receive a great deal of support from our employer as they offer a wide range of different support options ranging in different levels of experience and seniority so that you feel your needs and queries can be taken seriously. This includes a line manager and support team, as well as a mentor and buddy

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We receive a great deal of support from our Training provider as they offer continuous support and assistance from a monthly phone call to check up as well as a quarterly face to face meeting to help check our progress in more detail as well as offer support in any other way. They also book many interesting training courses outside of work

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • This helps to perform better in the role as they book and offer training courses that specifically relate to your role and furthering your skills such as communication enhancement to help develop confidence and communication skills as well as computer based training like word or excel as we spend a great deal of time using these systems

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • there is a huge amount of extra curricular activities on offer at work from societies like enhancing certain groups roles as well as clubs like wine tasting and a huge selection of sport clubs that meet monthly, these are great but based in London and as I commute far these are viable for me sadly

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would definitely recommend UBS as this is a Great global firm who offer a very wide range of apprenticeships in each department and then have may way to progress your career in the department, a different department or in a different country and will support you through out this, as well as this the bank offers great perks supports, as has a great working environment


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
  • You need to be enthusiastic as well as fairly knowledge on basic banking information relating to the sector you are applying to as well as be clued up on the banks history, world news and why you would want to work for UBS, as they are important in the interview process
